Plans

I had so many plans. So many good posts to share with all of you, however finals are upon me now so I will share with you some of my glorious plans.

I was going to make a post about how much people don't remember from high school and how it saddens me. For example earthquakes do not occur in Indiana, and neither do Hurricanes. (maybe I should change that to very, very, very, very rarely, but you get my point)

I was going to make a post about the BCS again and how, though I am very excited for the Longhorns because I love them, I wish that the BCS did not have such a clear pick for the national championship this year because the BCS sucks and the system doesn't work.

I was going to post a QuickTime video that Sam sent me of the Tennessee cheerleaders and mascot running out onto the Notre Dame Football Field and running into eachother and falling over. (I couldn't figure out how to post a video, and stupid blogspot didn't have any helpful advice).

I was going to tell you all about the Harry Potter movie and how good/bad it was and what my future opinions on the next movie and the next book are.

But it appears that due to finals, no one will here from me. Sorry do disappoint my reading public (which is comprised of like 2 people) but you'll have to wait til after December 20th when I am sane again (well as sane as I ever was to begin with).

So GO IRISH BEAT BCS

To Understand ND

So Charlie Weis' contract got extended this past week uping his contract to 10 years, until 2016. There has, as usual, been complaints about what Notre Dame has done, implying that they made a poor decision, or that they were short sighted. I would like to point out for all of you that make those points, unless you're in the Notre Dame family, you probably don't get it, so just lay off the comments.

I often joke about how Notre Dame is a cult, but in truth Notre Dame is a family. It is a family with a specfic set of family values, that you would not understand unless you are a part of them. That was the main problem with Bob Davie and Ty Willingham. They did not understand those values and were not able to assimilate into the true culture of Notre Dame. While it is true that after Ty's first year of going 9-2 Notre Dame extended his contract to 5 years, they are not being short sighted and ignoring past failures in choosing to extend Weis' contract. Weis gets Notre Dame. He is a part of the Notre Dame family. He desrves everything that he has been given, and I believe that he will work his hardest to make sure he lives up to the expectations that have been set because he has recieved those things.

It's unfortunate that I have to make these comments, becuase you would think that some people would be happy for Notre Dame in that they found a coach who truly under stands the spirit and nature of Notre Dame, but I understand that many people don't like winners so they are going to continue to try and find a way to knock them. Although at least I know, and the rest of the Notre Dame family knows, that to be a winner, sometimes you have to endure the complaints of the losers.

As Father Hesburgh Once Said: "Some things never change at ND; one is ND's commitment to excellence. The other is criticism for having the 'arrogance' to strive for it."
