While it's very exciting that you all may now call me "Dr. of Law" it is really unexciting that I have to spend the 10 weeks immediately following graduation studying for the bar. Speaking of studying for the bar, worst damn experience ever. I thought law school was a pain, this is just ridiculous. And it is of course no surprise that certain members of my family are completely oblivious to all of the work it entails. There's this nice BarBri lady that will call and yell at your family for you, and I'm seriously considering taking her up on that offer. Wouldn't that be the most embarrassing thing ever? Some stranger calls you and tells you to stop annoying your family member. HA! I really might just do that.

Other then that everything is probably status quo. Golum/Aunt Petunia/Kreacher is the same as ever (for those of you who don't know who that is, feel free to ask) but I seem to be more tolerant, which is nice I guess. Although I'm also on the good list because I planted flowers and got Scott to paint the front of the house, that always helps.

Alright, I have procrastinated enough for one day. After doing like 2 hrs. of MPT's I'm now going to work on NY essay questions somehow believing that might be more entertaining...somehow I doubt that.

Ciao Ciao All!

I'm not Dead

I'm not dead.....just busy.

And for the record, I'm pissed.

Harry Potter Release Date 7/21

Bar Date 7/24

Kiss my ass JK

Welcome Back ND Football

Okay, so now I'm officially back and we're officially on for another exciting season of Notre Dame Football. Now I know its a little early but in my sheer desire to avoid researching family law I thought I might do a little football snooping. I started off with CFN, otherwise known as College Football News. Simply put, they're retarded. They couldn't predict flooding if there was a hurricane overhead. So their current post season prediction is Notre Dame v. Florida in the Rose Bowl. I'm not actually complaining, because I might be able to convince Erik to go to Pasadena, but somehow to me it just seems horribly unlikely. CFN annoying me, I went to the BCS.

You think CFN is bad, you might as well shoot yourself after going to the BCS. Now I'm well aware that it's way to early for BCS rankings (for those of you who don't know they don't come out until half way into the season). However I like to see what those lovely computer polls that the BCS takes so seriously have to say. Well suffice it to say they're retarded. The Colley Matrix, one of my all time hated polls, has Oklahoma 1 and Indiana 2. I might buy into the Oklahoma thing. Seriously they seem to be looking better then the have in the past few years, but really a win over Washington or UAB in my eyes doesn't make you number 1. Maybe if they manage to romp on Oregon I'll feel differently, but considering Oregon's lackluster performance at Fresno State the jury's still out.And then there's Indiana. A reasonable win over Western Michigan at home and a decidedly close win over Ball State at Ball state, seriously is this the making of a #2 team? And of course we won't discuss the conference that Indiana is in and who else they have to play. It's not like they're up against teams like Michigan, Iowa, and Ohio State. I mean if they were playing Franklin this year then it would really matter. SERIOUSLY! (for those of you who don't know Franklin is this small liberal arts school somewhere in Indiana. I know some guy who went there).

Luckily for me the rest of the computer polls don't really seem to be operating yet, which is actually a better idea seeing as it's only the 2nd week of the season, and according to my lovely brother, (yes that's you Michael) that's not enough information to possibly do an accurate poll. So I'll hold out for the real good computer poll that Michael sends sometime after the 6th week of the season.

Football rankings aside, ND's got another tough game this week. I think if we can beat Michigan we'll finally have everyone convinced that we're as good as everyone continues to say we are. It strikes me funny that coaches continue to rank us high but none of the sports broadcasters ever have the ability to agree. And don't get me wrong, I'd much rather be 12 and work our way up so that we don't have a giant target on our backs all the time, but if they're going to give me two or three I'm going to take two or three. Final word on this weekend's game, we'll win, but it won't be easy, and I don't think the score will look like last weeks, unfortunately. I enjoy seeing blow out scores, especially against Michigan.

Buffa's Prediction - Irish 28 Wolverines 17

Seriously I'm Not Dead

Although you would never know it from looking at my Blog I'm actually not dead. The utter hell of spending 3 hours locked in a room with a bunch of sweaty fingers pounding out ridiculous compound hypothetical on the keyboard.

We're all at the state where we either we can't eat to the fear that we will puke all over our computers (and then where would we take our exams) or we stuff our faces hoping that somehow the overwhelming large amount of sugar intake will somehow impart upon us great knowledge of Constitutional Law or Criminal Procedure.

So until the torture has ended and the books are put away I'm afraid you will not hear from me...there will be no witty comments, obnoxious bragging, or stories of crazy law students.

See you on the other side....

Law School Finals

For those of you who have never had law school finals, I don't envy you. To put it nicely they SUCK. They're 3 - 4 hours of 16 weeks worth of material that is crammed into an 8 page question which you are allowed to spend 12,000 characters writing about. But beyond the finals themselves sucking the time leading up to them is just as obnoxious. Most law students become extremely stressed, extremely picky, and downright bithcy (as if they aren't like that normally). Well today I had quite an encounter with one of those particularly bitchy law students, so I thought I would share it with you.... To start the situation I'll give you some background. I do indeed often sit in the same place (most people do they are creatures of habit). However today I didn't care where I sat as long as I had enough space to spread out my research so I could Bluebook my paper (for those of you who don't know what that means, feel free to ask me... after finals.) I came to the library looking for some place and I went to my normal spot and discovered people at both the tables I usually choose to sit at. That's fine though I decided I could go look else where. I went to the little table, which was full, the other three big tables downstairs, full, and the larger desks which I will often use, full. So I came back to my original tables and said, well since there was only one person at each table for 4, I could sit at one. Which I did. I would like to know that the person whose stuff was occupying the table was not present. I took out my computer, research, etc., and proceeded into the hell of Bluebooking.

The girl comes back walking merrily sees me sitting and immediately stops and glares. I look at her and smile and she gives me a smirk and goes and sits in front of what presumably is her stuff. She looks at me again. Takes out her ear plugs and then...

Nasty Girl: "Um excuse me, do you have to sit here because your typing is going to annoy me."

Me: "I needed to sit at a table b/c I need to spread out to Bluebook my paper but there wasn't anywhere else to sit. I'm Bluebooking so I won't be typing a lot. I just have to check my e-mail from work, and then it'll be quiet."

She glares some more, but decides that this must be okay. So I check my work e-mail. Normal nonsense. I did a little typing because I replied to one e-mail, but then my computer froze. So I was sitting there staring at my screen when.

Nasty Girl: "Um your typing is already annoying me are you sure there wasn't any where else that you could go?"

Me: "I checked every where else and I really need the space today."

Nasty Girl: "Well your typing is really annoying me. I mean I can't even read."

Me: "I typed AN e-mail, and I haven't typed because my computer's frozen. I'm just sitting here waiting."

Nasty Girl: "Well it's really annoying me. Can't you just leave?"

Me: "I'm not even typing the guy at the other table is typing, I'm not making any noise."

Nasty Girl: "Okay, but, just, can't you go somewhere else. I need to be able to read this, and I can hear you through my ear plugs."

Me: "I'm still not typing, and No there is no where else to go."

Nasty Girl: "Are you sure? Did you check that room over there?"

Me: "Yes. And there was nothing there."

Nasty Girl: "Well will you just move?"

Me: "No."

Nasty Girl: "Is this just that you sit here every day and think this is your space and don't want move?"

Me: "NO! I don't even come to school every day. I need the space. I'm not moving."

Nasty Girl: "Well, ugh, fine. That's just ridiculous. Ugh."

And after much huffing and puffing later she got up and went up stairs for something, and then came down here and got out her computer and continued to glare at me.

Now folks I understand 100% how stressful finals are, and I understand how no one wants to be inside when it's 70 degrees outside, however there is no reason to be a bitch. And secondly no one owns any portion of the library, and just about EVERYBODY uses their computers to study, outline, research, and learn. So if you don't like the sound of typing I recommend that you go and find a little box in the middle of the woods where hopefully you won't have any NOISE to bother you.

Beauty Abounds

So You all saw the beautiful picture yesterday, and here I am posting another beautiful picture today, you ask, "What are these most delectable sites?". Well let me inform you. You should be jealous because I will also see this beautiful structure this summer.

As you all know I will be on holiday in France with Erik after school gets out. (That is what you are looking at here. Mont. St. Michel, which is an abbey that was dedicated to the Arch Angel off the coast of Brittany.)

What you may not know is that the beautiful picture from yesterday was Sorrento, Italy, where I will also be going this summer. I was accepted to the Summer Abroad Program with Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, and I will be spending two weeks in Sorrento. I am so overwhelmingly excited and ecstatic that I can not even explain it.

So if any of you world travelers have opinions as to what I should do while on Holiday in France or while studying in Sorrento please let me know, and if you want to come and make the cost of our Villa in Sorrento less, feel free to do that as well.

Jealous?

See that picture? They let you post your thoughts, and give little updates to all those people who you think really care about how you are doing. Faithful friends come and find your blogs and check up on you to make sure that you're doing well. Let's be honest, I have no delusions about this. There are about three people who read my blog, and I have a feeling that's only when they have absolutely nothing to do short of drooling out of the side of their mouth.

However I do find other people's blogs useful. For Example: Mike Vath apparently lives in Ann Arbor Michigan, Vnak is apparently having Twins, Duffy is apparently attempting to attend the Madonna Concert at the Garden, and Michael apparently hasn't had the time to post on his blog in a year.

So although I may not be linked on other's blogs, and they may not read my blog, or even know that I have a blog, keep blogging friends, you have no idea the immense entertainment you bring me during those long lazy days I spend at the library.

30th Birthday Bashes

Well it is offically over. They've both turned 30, they're both offically old, and I want a divorce and two new better looking younger husbands. Just kidding.

Just a little update for everyone. Law school sucks as usual, but for the first time in I don't know HOW long we actually did something fun on a Saturday night. We attended the surprise 30th birthday part for one of my closet friends (seen right in the white jacket). Quite possibly one of the best parties I've ever been to it was Casino themed, and if it's possible I think that Samantha out did herself. She had fake money with Scott's picture on it, and prizes for the top gambler as well as the low gambler. And to top it off she had an alcohol list of Martini's all geared to times in Scott's life. The Rocky-Point Tini (named after our highschool and colored after our blue and gold colors) was a hit with my husband and myself, while others went for things like the Staten Islandtini and the Big EasyTini.

So I am throughly impressed by Sam's planning ability, and if I ever get around to planning a surprise party for my actual husband I will certainly enlist her help, because really she's brilliant.

Things here on the range are the same, don't ever want to be here, and would much prefer a house somewhere in the mountains of Italy where no cell phone could reach me, but alas that is not my lot in life, so I will continue my study of law in hopes that if I must have a cell phone that it can be the newest and coolest one they have made.

Harry Potter

Thought this was funny and everyone should see it.

Also please noted that today is 01/03/2006 (that's European format) which means that it is Ronald's Birthday.

Happy 26th Birthday Ronald!!!

Legal Drinking Age in Britian: 18
Emma Watson's Age: 15
At least she's only 3 years underage as opposed to American 15 year olds who are 6 years underage.

Way too Much Fun

I should so be studying, but this is more amusing then Con Law is to me right now. This meant that he was unable to retain any of the exclusive rights that belong to copyright holders such as reproduction, derivative works, publication, and he was basically unable to profit or benefit from any of his hard work.

On that fateful day in 1927 when Walt learned that he no longer had copyright in Oswald, and could no longer use him to help fuel his dreams he got on a train and headed back to California from NY with nothing but Lily. While on that train he realized that he would have to start over and so he did with the first drawing of mouse, a mouse named Mortimer, who would eventually become one of the country's most recognized icons, a mouse who would mean freedom to many other nations in the world, a mouse that would represent all that was magical and imaginative in the world.

So although we missed Oswald we would not be where we were today without his absence, but as we have come so far it is about time that we have all of the family back together.

So thank you Bob for bringing us back Oswald who began a dream that we are all still living today.

Update

Apparently I'm a huge loser. I didn't realize until about a week ago that I hadn't written anything since Christmas Eve. So I will of course update my adoring fans (all 2 of you) with what's been going on since you last heard from me.

So last time you heard from me it was Christmas which means I got exciting new gifts. Well I don't know about exciting because I'm pretty boring myself, but I liked everything that I got which included the Jane Austen set from Easton Press, a new necklace from Tiffany's, a whole bunch of new books to read, new movies to watch, and my very own elephant with its trunk up to hold my rings on.

After Christmas I spent the majority of the week working at the Wonderful World of Disney. However I did have off on Tuesday of that week when my Mom came over to make arincini (rice balls). Well little did we know that Grandma Buffa wrote that recipe with the intention of it being halved, so we spent six hours making Rice balls and ended up with 84!!! It's a good thing I had a lot of people to give them away to (although I still have like 16 in my refrigerator).

Of course the week flew by and it was my annual New Year's Bash. Which I wouldn't really call a bash because we are the most boring people in the world, but we do have fun. I had a fantastic array of food as usual beginning with the old stand by cheese and crackers and bruschetta followed by an appetizer of arincini (big surprise) followed by the pasta course of pasta con pesto. We had to take a serious break after that because we were FULL (so we played trivial pursuit) but later on we had Swiss Steak, which was good, but not as flavorfull as I would have hoped, but I do have some plans for fixing that the next time. After the stake we began our game of Phase 10 in which Ms. Duffy (the new addition to the party) kicked our asses. We finished off the food part of the evening with a little French silk pie, which everyone loved but I thought was boring. (won't be making that next year)

After New Years I headed to Florida to visit my fam in St. Augustine, and then I met Erik and his parents in Orlando to find some Magic at Disney world, which we certainly did. Erik and I "ran" the Disney World Half Marathon this year, and I was very proud to say that I improved my time from two years about by 8 minutes. Maybe next year I'll actually bother to train!

After vacation I came back to the real world, which I utterly and truly DESPISE and food myself back at work and getting ready for school. YUCK.

And speaking of school here I am again. Back in the wonderful pithole of hell tat I refer to as law school. I suppose it's not as bad as it was last time because I'm officially on the half way done with law school side, but it still sucks, and it seems that the more work I do the more work I have to do. How the hell does that work?

So I hope you all enjoyed the update, and sooner rather then later, hopefully, I will be able to update a little more frequently. type='text'>Merry Christmas Notre Dame

ND 'Twas the Night Before Christmas'

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through South Bend
Not a creature was stirring, neither rooster nor hen

"The banners were hung on the stadium with care,
In hopes that St. Charlie soon would be there

The alumni were nestled all snug in their beds,
With dreams of Leahy and Holtz in their heads;

While the students at the Grotto, down by the lake,
Were just giving thanks for a long winter break,

When out on those quads there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The Dome with a crest of new-fallen snow
Gave a luster of mid-day to a campus below

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear
A high-powered offense: the champions next year!

With a large and proud leader, so friendly and nice
I knew in a moment it must be Coach Weis

As fast as Four Horsemen, onward they came
He whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:

"Now Hoyte, Now Samardzija, Walker, Fasano
On Stovall, On Shelton, Wooden, Anastascio"

To the top of the rankings, to the top of them all"
Now throw a-way, run a-way, and dive for the ball!

We will move like the wind, our runners will fly
And just for balance, we'll take to the sky!"

So up to the top of the rankings they flew
With a big book of plays, and Brady Quinn too

And then in a twinkling, to the sound of the cleats
The scoring and wins, I forgot past defeats

As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney, Coach Weis came with a bound

He was dressed with his rings, and headset to boot
And his clothes were all drenched with! Gatorade and soot

A number of victories he carried on his back
And he smiled as he turned and presented a sackof trophies--

how they twinkled! Like heaps of gold treasures
His cheeks were like roses, his wisdom past measure

Weis commanded the team on fourth downs to throw
Through hail and through fog, through sleet and through snow

His genius caused points in the forties and fifties,
to hearten alumni and keep our stats spiffy

Weis had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed, like a BCS bowl-ful of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, and so sure of himself,
That I cheered when I saw him, in spite of myself;

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
Soon gave me to know, Ohio State would be dead

He boasted not a word, praise makes not his day
But all now know, for the title we'll play

And laying a finger to the side of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the rankings we rose

At his departure I heard Trooper McCarthy say;
If your sleigh flight looks fishy, you'll be the catch of the day!

Weis sprang to the roof, to his team gave a cheer
And away to a victory in the Fiesta next year;

And I heard him call plays, for winning that game
"Merry Christmas to all. And love thee Notre Dame!

(Written by John Rosemeyer)

Count Down

1 Down 3 To Go.....

Law School Drudgery

So I know that I whined about how I would not be able to post anything until after finals were over, but this was so the funniest thing that I ever read (probably only because I'm a law student) that I felt the need to share it with everyone.

So this is from this blog called barely legal that curtsey of my friend April I was introduced to. Turns out this kid is in law school and likes to post ridiculous things about law school and people sometimes reply to his posts. This was one of replies about the stresses of law school. If you want to read more go to http://barelylegalblog.blogspot.com/.

We were in our review session for torts and this guy was completely lost. Let me just say now, this guy seemed to have his shit together. He is very much a type-A personality, the kind of guy you would think can handle pressure well. We never would have expected this from him. Anyway, during this review session, he just didn't get intent. For example, he thought that if you accidently hit somebody with your car you are liable because you intended to be driving your car. Like I said, he was lost.

He kept asking the professor to clarify, and things began to get a little bit heated between them. They went back and forth for a few minutes, when finally, the guy, out of frustration, said, "Just tell me what you expect me to know for the exam."The professor looked at him, and flatly said, "I expect you to know the law of torts."

What happened next was one of the most shocking things I have ever seen. The guy heard the professor's response and exploded. "Fuck you, man!", he shouted, and then he burst into tears.

And these weren't small tears. This was loud sobbing. The entire class, 90+ people, sat there in silence as he sobbed. And here is the craziest thing: The guy didn't get up and run out. He sat there weeping for the next ten minutes while the professor continued the review.

Needless to say, no one heard anything the professor said for the rest of the period. We all sat there trying not to laugh at the ridiculous and almost unbelievable spectacle before us. After it was over, he wiped his tears away, packed up his stuff and trudged up to the library like nothing happened.

Now I recognize that some of you won't find this as funny as others do, but take my word for it it's hysterical. As the author of Barely Legal said Torts is like the gym of law school, if you don't get Torts just drop out and go to basket weaving school, you'll be better off.

Hope it made some of you law school and lawyer types laugh, as well as those who were simply bored and thought they would wonder onto my blog.

Plans

I had so many plans. So many good posts to share with all of you, however finals are upon me now so I will share with you some of my glorious plans.

I was going to make a post about how much people don't remember from high school and how it saddens me. For example earthquakes do not occur in Indiana, and neither do Hurricanes. (maybe I should change that to very, very, very, very rarely, but you get my point)

I was going to make a post about the BCS again and how, though I am very excited for the Longhorns because I love them, I wish that the BCS did not have such a clear pick for the national championship this year because the BCS sucks and the system doesn't work.

I was going to post a QuickTime video that Sam sent me of the Tennessee cheerleaders and mascot running out onto the Notre Dame Football Field and running into eachother and falling over. (I couldn't figure out how to post a video, and stupid blogspot didn't have any helpful advice).

I was going to tell you all about the Harry Potter movie and how good/bad it was and what my future opinions on the next movie and the next book are.

But it appears that due to finals, no one will here from me. Sorry do disappoint my reading public (which is comprised of like 2 people) but you'll have to wait til after December 20th when I am sane again (well as sane as I ever was to begin with).

So GO IRISH BEAT BCS

and

GO IRISH BEAT FINALS

Charlie Weis Fan Club

Charlie Weis Fan Club

To Understand ND

So Charlie Weis' contract got extended this past week uping his contract to 10 years, until 2016. There has, as usual, been complaints about what Notre Dame has done, implying that they made a poor decision, or that they were short sighted. I would like to point out for all of you that make those points, unless you're in the Notre Dame family, you probably don't get it, so just lay off the comments.

I often joke about how Notre Dame is a cult, but in truth Notre Dame is a family. It is a family with a specfic set of family values, that you would not understand unless you are a part of them. That was the main problem with Bob Davie and Ty Willingham. They did not understand those values and were not able to assimilate into the true culture of Notre Dame. While it is true that after Ty's first year of going 9-2 Notre Dame extended his contract to 5 years, they are not being short sighted and ignoring past failures in choosing to extend Weis' contract. Weis gets Notre Dame. He is a part of the Notre Dame family. He desrves everything that he has been given, and I believe that he will work his hardest to make sure he lives up to the expectations that have been set because he has recieved those things.

It's unfortunate that I have to make these comments, becuase you would think that some people would be happy for Notre Dame in that they found a coach who truly under stands the spirit and nature of Notre Dame, but I understand that many people don't like winners so they are going to continue to try and find a way to knock them. Although at least I know, and the rest of the Notre Dame family knows, that to be a winner, sometimes you have to endure the complaints of the losers.

As Father Hesburgh Once Said: "Some things never change at ND; one is ND's commitment to excellence. The other is criticism for having the 'arrogance' to strive for it."

Go Irish Beat Vols!!!

BCS (Bowl Championship Shit)

Now how many times has the BCS been referred to that way? Probably more times then they care to count. I actually don't hate the BCS as much as I used to, I think that I'm just resigned to it now. And amusingly enough, I actually don't have much of a complaint to make for this week because I'm quite giddy regarding the status of this week's BCS. Good old Hook 'Em Horns topped out the Condoms (oopps, I meant the Trojans) this week. But I actually wanted to let everyone know that I have made an official nomination for a new computer poll to be added to the BCS calculation. Of course we are all aware that the computer polls are useless and usually make any logicial sense at all, but I believe I found the next candidate to be added to the BCS.

Michael Paulson, please stand up.

Yeah, okay, he's not going to stand up because at the moment he's some where torturing some poor ninth graders with global history, and I'm sitting in a law school class room all by myself. But that's not really the point. HE some how has some free time and every year about this time he ranks all 119 NCAA teams. And though I might not always agree with everything (for example BC being ranked over ND --> even though that's a personal thing) I think that in general he has the most, fair, level headed poll that I've seen. So I think that he should be a part of the BCS polls. However I am well aware that he won't be because the BCS only takes crack heads that leave out losses to teams that are not Division I (hem, hem COLLEY MATRIX) and attempt to solve world peace, rocket science, and the avian flu in their formulas. But for anyone who's interested, I think his rankings are some of the well done, fair and level headed. And they entertain me on a weekly basis. So for this week I will share with everyone the newely elevated computer rankings for the BCS. (Pst, I hope I don't get in trouble for copyright infringement, but at least it doesn't have his formulas, it's just facts.)

Enjoy...

Rnk Name Conf. (However I do despise it when an ESPN classic game, is one where Notre Dame ends up losing).

Now I don't want to whine, but I do have to say a couple of things about that game. First of all I LOVE CHARLIE WEISS!!!! As Mike Greeney put it, "I think I actually have a crush on him." (so that is not whininig, because I'm obviously giving him a compliment). Anyway I appreciate the fact that he called the game for what it was, yes it was a good game, yes we played well, but we lost. And a loss is still a loss. I appreciate that, because I do believe that in the end, if your game is played well and you lose, you're not going to make a BCS bowl. As those stupid computer rankings prove, it doesn't matter that we played well, we lost and that cost us. But even though we lost, and he pointed that out he still made a point to congratulate our players, and talk to our players and make them see that even he made mistakes (As he admitted about the game). Charlie Weiss is the best coach EVER. I'm totally on the Charlie Weiss bandwagon (of course I've been on that since last January).

Secondly I would like to point out that I was very, very proud of our team, our band, and our fans this weekend. We had one of the most historic wins in history taken away from us in the last seven seconds of the game. Yet our fans still acted in a respectful manner and still stayed and cheered as our team walked off the field. Our band still went out on the field and played their post game and marched out of the stadium as proud as they could be. And our team still acknoweldged that our fans had stayed with them through the whole game, and supported them for the whole game and appreciated that we never gave up on them. It is these things that makes Notre Dame, Notre Dame. Yes USC won, and USC is #1 in footbal, and USC will get to go to the national championship, but I will take a Notre Dame team with more class, more respect, and more heart over the USC national champions any day. USC proved again that they had no class (and I will not list the ways in which they did this, because I would be here all day and never get any homework done,) but suffice it to say USC may have had more points, but that's about all they had more of.

Now that I'm over my bitter ranting, maybe next time I'll be able to say something a little nicer and a littler happier.

Go Irish Beat Cougars!!!

USC v. Howe well that will work I don't know, because the gobs of homework have not gotten any better, but maybe it will be a much deserved break for me to post a little comment once in a while. Supposedly I'm supposed to post 20% more, but I'm not sure exactly how to figure out what 20% more is so, sorry dear Michael, you will just have to suffice with whatever more I manage to come up with. So for today I will inform you all of my lovely copyright professor. I would tell you his name, but for fear that he knows how to check the internet I am going to instead refer to him as WonderMan. WonderMan is this little old guy that apparently is the Copyright genius of the century. I Was informed that I Was supposed to take his class because he was very prominent in the copyright field, and that I would learn a lot from him. So I took this advice and enrolled in his class. While he may be brilliant, I have also discovered that he is crazy.
In last weeks class we were discussing the copyrightability of movements, and dance, and he thought that he would inquire as to the copyrightability of yoga. Apparently he is personally acquainted with Yoga, because he informed us that he takes a yoga class. And then he went on to discuss things such as the standing tree, the cat, and the downward dog. And then he thought it might be a good idea to demonstrate for us what exactly he was talking about in the hopes we would have a better idea of the copyrightability. Well I would like to thank whatever deity is residing in the heavens at this point for only allowing him to show us the standing tree, because if he had gotten down on the floor and done the downward dog in front of the class room I might have had a heart attack and died. For more entertaining stories of WonerMan (and perhaps better entertaining stories of Wonderman, because this one was fairly boring) come back at a later date, and I will see what I can do for you. Off to Con Law.

Library Madness

So as everyone knows I had this brilliant idea that I would go to Law School. Amazingly enough so far so good, however it is an extreme amount of reading, and I'm not talking reading like Harry Potter or the DiVinci Code, I'm talking reading like if I'm not careful the drool will end up fading all of the pages. But anyway, that's besides the point. As a 2L we continue to spend a lot of time in the library, which I did today all friggin day.
Now I'm sure you're aware that I have a lot of pet peeves, and one of them is people chewing with their mouth open. Well today there was a girl in the library chewing with her mouth open, and of course this would be the day that I forgot my IPod so I couldn't turn up my music. Well I got so aggravated that I walked to the Barnes and Nobles and bought a CD so that I could play it on my computer while I was studying. I figured this would solve the problem, however I was wrong. It turns out this girl was actually part cow and I could hear her OVER my head phones. So I put my headphones as loud as I could, and finally the horrific noise went away, and then to my greatest pleasure, she actually went away. (I would assume she went to class, but I was unaware they let cows into law school).
So I was content and I studied my way into the afternoon. And then she returned, and this time just to be friendly she sat right behind me so that even with my headphones turned up as loud as I could take them without blowing out my ear drums I could hear her. Well I had enough of that. So I waited. When she got up to go to the bathroom, I struck. I stole her gum. Actually I simply picked it up and threw it out. That way once the piece she had wore out she would be Shit out of Luck.
Moral of the Story: Don't chew with your mouth open in my presence, I take drastic measures.

Give it a whirl

So I've decided to join the internet craze of havin my own "blog". We'll have to see how the whole thing works out. I'm not really sure what gives me the impression that I'm going to have time to actually post anything, but I suppose at least this way when I feel the need to say somethinhg that no one really wants to hear I can post it and fool myself into believing that someone's actually going to read it. So that's that. As will probably be typical in my life of blogging, I don't actually have the time to be doing this, so i'm going to go back to reading some insanely boring legal text book and see how long it takes the dust in the corner of my desk to become more interesting then text i'm attempting to absorb in my text book.
